Marie trained as a Chartered Accountant with Kerry Group. During that time, she was responsible for overseeing the group’s management, financial, tax and treasury consolidation reporting systems. She has worked with many Irish and US multinationals and has extensive experience of start-ups, mergers, acquisitions and integrations.
Marie works with organisations across all industries, from solopreneurs to large multinationals and believes that all businesses, irrespective of size, should have access to financial expertise to scale and manage their businesses. This can be achieved through a combination of outsourcing, consultation and training, as appropriate.
Marie is a sought after business and financial trainer. In addition to start-up and financial training on behalf of many Local Enterprise Offices, she has developed and delivered training programmes to international finance & operations teams. She provides Finance training for C-Suite management and Non-Finance Professionals, in particular she develops KPI and performance management training and consulting customised to each organisation. She is a qualified trainer with a teaching diploma and over 25 years’ experience in developing and delivering tailor-made training programmes to accountants and other business professionals.
Marie is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Marie was awarded a BComm from NUI Galway. She holds a post-graduate qualification in Management from University of Limerick and a post-graduate certificate in IT applications in Business from DCU.
Marie is an approved mentor and financial consultant with a number of Local Enterprise Offices and delivers regular clinics and seminars on their behalf. Marie is also a member of the Enterprise Ireland Panel of Lean Service Providers.
Margaret has worked for over twenty-five years in various accounting roles, 15 years of which were with PKF (Grant Thornton). She managed payroll services for 30 clients as well as managing a client services department preparing monthly management accounts for Irish and Multinational clients. She was responsible for training all new staff on payroll and management accounts preparation.
Margaret was Track Accountant with the Irish Greyhound Board, responsible for monthly management accounts and payroll for the Mullingar Greyhound track as well as transitioning from Sage to Great Plains accounting system.
Margaret has worked in the Charity Sector, with responsibility for governance, management and statutory reporting to internal and external stakeholders. She was pivotal in the design and implementation of a grants database management system for allocating and measuring outcomes on grants awarded by the charity. Margaret also trained funders, trustees and staff on the database, governance, management and financial reporting.
In all her roles, Margaret used her finance and systems experience to streamline processes allowing these businesses to develop, grow and prosper. She trained and mentored staff and management in financial management, ensuring that they understood accounting terminology. She prepared and explained management accounts and financial statements to management and boards of directors, ensuring they understood how the business was performing and enabling them to govern the organisations effectively.
Margaret commenced working with Marie Manning Financial Management in 2020 and has provided support to clients in areas such as taxation, book keeping and pricing. She loves working with clients to find better, more efficient, ways to manage their business finances and develop their understanding of accounting and taxation.
Melanie has been bringing social media training to business professionals since 2013. She has worked in the past with SMEs, state bodies, Social Media Influencers, public figures and businesses across all industries. She customises her training to the needs of the individual trainees to make sure that they are using the correct social media for their businesses.
Melanie is a journalist with a keen interest in start-ups. In 2016 her writing on this subject brought her to the attention of Irish Tech News and she has since been writing for them. She was brought on as a core member of the team in late 2017 and reports for them at events across Europe on social media.
Over the last three years Melanie has started to mentor businesses through Micro Mentor and has been recognised for her exemplary customer service by her peers by twice winning in the Micro Business Awards (2018 & 2019).
Melanie speaks and workshops publicly at events like BizExpo, Women’s Inspire Network, Amplify Digital, Dublin NWED event 2019, WhatsWhat.ie and Dublin Business Market.
Since the start of 2020 Melanie has become the lead trainer for the sales and marketing content in the Start your own business programmes delivered by Marie Manning Financial Management and has mentored our clients in social media marketing.
